Popular Plans
The most popular Medicare Supplement Plans include Plans C, F, G, and N as they are the most comprehensive of all ten Medicare Supplements.
Plans C and F
Plan F is the most comprehensive plan of all supplement plans, with Plan C right behind it. However, both Plans C and F are no longer available to Medicare beneficiaries who became eligible for Medicare after January 1, 2020.
Plan C covers:
- 100% of Part A coinsurance and hospital costs, hospice care coinsurance and copayments, and deductible
- 100% of Part B coinsurance and hospital costs and deductible
- 100% of the first three pints of blood for transfusions
- 100% of skilled nursing facility care coinsurance
- 80% of a foreign travel emergency
Plan F covers:
- 100% of Part A coinsurance and hospital costs, hospice care coinsurance and copayments, and deductible
- 100% of Part B coinsurance and hospital costs, excess charges, and deductible
- 100% of the first three pints of blood for transfusions
- 100% of skilled nursing facility care coinsurance
- 80% of a foreign travel emergency
What makes these plans so different from the others is they provide coverage for the Part B deductible. What makes Plan C not as comprehensive as Plan F is that it does not cover Part B excess charges.
Plan G
Since Plans C and F have limited enrollment, Plan G now becomes the most comprehensive. It covers everything that Plan F does, except for the Part B deductible.
- 100% of Part A coinsurance and hospital costs, hospice care coinsurance and copayments, and deductible
- 100% of Part B coinsurance and hospital costs and excess charges
- 100% of the first three pints of blood for transfusions
- 100% of skilled nursing facility care coinsurance
- 80% of a foreign travel emergency
